This work explores the inner struggles within intimate relationships, capturing the difficulty of expressing oneself fully or articulating personal needs. It reflects the sense of distance that arises when one's needs go unmet and the isolation that can exist even within closeness.

The photos are drawn from a time when male and female roles were strictly defined, and individuals were expected to conform to societal norms despite their inner struggles. Gender roles were highly stereotypical. By obscuring the faces (primarily of men), I, as the artist, reclaim control over the power dynamics within the relationship, giving women more agency and presence within the narrative.

"Interdependency" examines the intricate dynamics of human relationships, highlighting the interplay of power and communication barriers. Through a deliberate focus on elements such as gaze, hands, and body language, the work constructs a visual narrative that reflects the complexities of human connection. By juxtaposing vintage imagery with modern perspectives, the piece challenges viewers to confront the enduring legacies of gender inequality and their ongoing influence in our lives.

The series had an honorable mention at the PX3 Prix de la Photography Paris 2024
